Gisèle Zanellato is an unusual visual artist.
Her work is part of a contemporary approach. She plays with the images at her disposal, juxtaposing them to create a new 3D reality, free from all constraints and logic.
Gisèle Zanellato was born in 1960. She lives and works in Mons, Belgium. A graduate of the Mons School of Fine Arts, where she studied in the Printed Image workshop, she spent twenty-five years as an artistic advisor in a textile printing company. In 2014, her artistic career took a new turn when she became particularly interested in collage and cut-out techniques in three-dimensional space.
Her works are paintings that combine images from all walks of life, whether paintings, tapestries, architectural elements or photographs that have no apparent logical connection, but which fit into the reconstruction of a unique universe. These unexpected and imaginative associations transport us, with a touch of derision, into a surreal world with an accessible visual vocabulary. The hypnotic composition of each box set takes the observer on a journey into the heart of the artist’s imagination.
