Illusions
With her Illusion series, Gisele Zanellato explores the subtle separation between image and object. By superimposing origami onto its flat counterpart, she creates a perceptual confusion that plays with the codes of representation. The viewer is invited to scrutinise this tension, to search for the point where the fold dissolves into the background, in a subtle interplay between mimicry and revelation.
